Watershed Church Monthly Newsletter | January 2026 | 6th Edition

A Note from Pastor David:

GET UNSTUCK:  Have you ever felt stuck in a certain place or time?  You can’t seem to move forward, and you know you do not want to move backwards.  You are stuck!  Lots of people are that way in their careers, family relationships, finances and even their relationship with God.  Why?  Mainly because they do the basics only.  Never do they take a hard look at what the problem is then address it head on.  For example, in their relationship with Jesus they do the basic few things that most of us learn early in our walk with Jesus, but then quit growing spiritually.  We let the patterns of life and habits of dysfunction take over.  2026 is all about getting unstuck!  I want to personally invite you to join us on the journey.  Figure out why are you are stuck and what to do about it.  You will be forever different!  Never to go back that way again!

Our new series starting January 4th is about Gideon who ultimately was a judge in Israel, but he had some personal issues, family matters, and life long habits causing him to be stuck.  Once he figured out what was wrong and trusted God in it, he was able to move forward.  In his new found UNSTUCK position, he found strength, courage, freedom, and faith. Join us for the first few weeks of the year as we study the life of Gideon in the GET UNSTUCK series.

Last Fall 2025 we had Vision Night, kicked off a capital campaign, and began to plan for a very bright future.  LEGACY X pledges are slowly arriving, but they are coming.  Thank you!  Our $5 Million goal is going to be hard to accomplish, but we must have faith that God is going to help us.  Remember we are first paying off our $1.6 Million facility debt.  Talk about stuck!  Debt is a real burden for us.  Once the debt is paid off, then we will begin raising money for the renovations next door which will double our facility space from 10,000 square feet to 22,390 square feet.  The price tag for that improvement could be as much as $2.5 Million.  And don’t forget we have to continue to operate each year which is approximately $550,000 annually creating the rest of our more than $5 Million goal.  Please talk to everyone you know who could even remotely help us.  Every donation is significant!  Every contribution pushes us closer to the goal!  Be looking for graphics and brochures in the near future to help you better understand what our future holds.  And prayerfully consider a sacrificial donation to our LEGACY X GOAL.  We are not looking back but moving forward!

Some have asked what we will do with the money if we do not make our goal.  Please understand…we are going to make our goal!  One way or another, I have faith that God is going to show up.  But to answer the question, know this…every week people are already making donations to the LEGACY X fund.  And our first goal is to pay off the $1.6 Million in debt.  So every month, we will take what contributions we have received to make a principle-payment toward the debt.  My hope is that we will drop the principle significantly, making the loan draw less interest and every month getting us closer to the goal.

Be a part of our GET UNSTUCK and LEGACY X push in 2026.  And HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Blessings,

-Dr. David Miracle

Celebrating What God Did in 2025 at Watershed

As we step into 2026, we want to pause and reflect on all that God did in and through Watershed Church in 2025. This past year was full of growth, obedience, and moments where we clearly saw God at work. We are grateful for what He has done and expectant for what is still ahead.

A Growing Team for a Growing Church

In 2025, our staff team expanded so we could better care for our church family and support the ministries God is building at Watershed. We welcomed three full-time team members who stepped into key roles.

Kenia Barrera joined us as our bookkeeper, providing consistency and stewardship behind the scenes. Corey Peña stepped into the role of Associate Pastor, overseeing Kids, Students, and Life Groups. Sarah Lugo joined as our Children’s Coordinator, investing in our kids ministry and supporting the families of Watershed.

These additions reflect a church that is growing thoughtfully and intentionally.

Life Groups Took Root

One of the biggest steps in 2025 was the launch of Life Groups. Our first semester was a success, with people gathering in homes, restaurants, and even at the church. These groups became spaces for real connection, prayer, and spiritual growth.

Life Groups reminded us that church is not just something we attend, but something we live out together.

A Place for the Now Generation

This year marked important growth in our student ministry. Youth now have spaces designed for them, where they can belong, ask questions, and grow in their faith.

In 2025, Young Life also began meeting at Watershed Church. Opening our doors to this ministry allowed even more students to experience connection and hear about Jesus in a relational and welcoming environment.

We are thankful to be a place for the now generation and to invest in students right where they are.

What’s Coming for Watershed Youth

As we move into 2026, Watershed Youth continues to create intentional spaces for students to connect, grow, and belong.

High school students will gather for key moments throughout the year, including a Worship Night on January 14, a joint night with Young Life on January 26, and additional events designed to build community and deepen faith through the spring.

Beginning February 1st, middle school students will meet during second service in a new space just for them, with Celebration Days taking place on the last Sunday of each month. These moments create space to recognize growth, encourage students, and celebrate what God is doing in their lives.

Our heart is simple. To meet students where they are and walk with them as they take steps toward Jesus.

Beyond Our Walls

In 2025, Watershed took its first missions trip to Harlem, expanding our vision beyond our city and reminding us that the gospel reaches far beyond our own context.

That same heart for outreach led to a new partnership with Agape Ministries. In November 2025, Watershed launched monthly donation Sundays to help meet real needs in our community. The response from our church family was generous and encouraging.

Agape donations are collected on the first Sunday of every month, providing a steady and practical way for our church to serve others.

Giving Matters

In 2025, we launched the Legacy X capital campaign as a step of faith toward the future of Watershed. This campaign is about creating space for people, ministry, and continued growth. Your generosity plays a real role in helping us move forward together.

Care and Prayer

This year also marked the launch of our Care Ministry. Through hospital visits, home visits, and moments of need, our care team stepped in to support people right where they were. Alongside this, our prayer ministry continued to grow, faithfully lifting up needs and covering our church in prayer.

Honoring Our Volunteers and Team Leads

None of this happens without the people who serve week in and week out. In 2025, volunteers and team leads stepped up across the board, filling needs and serving with faithfulness.

From Missions, Front of House, Kids, Youth, Prayer, Care, Worship, Productions, and Safety, along with every other team that serves behind the scenes, your commitment helped make disciples and build community at Watershed.

We are thankful for you and honored to serve alongside you.

Looking Ahead

There is more that could be said, and more stories that could be told. What stands out most from 2025 is this. God was faithful, and He used His people in meaningful ways.

Thank you for being part of what God is doing at Watershed. We look forward to continuing the journey together in 2026.
